Settled in Gator Nation...

Hello all, and our apologies for slacking on our blogging duties. We have settled into Gainesville, Florida - as you probably know, after I accepted a position with the University of Florida. On Saturday we ventured to a farm where horses are retired, we found a few smaller four legged friends there too. There are over 120 horses on the farm. I think Marisa wanted to take them all home.

Despite the uneven ground Maryn took to running around in the open space. And, was prepared to go fishing at any time - as obvious by her hat.

I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the horses or the girls. However, having carrots is a sure to way gain affection.

Happy girls out and about.

Butterfly Rainforest...

University of Florida has a museum of natural history on campus, part of the exhibit includes a butterfly rainforest.

My head is neither rainy nor a forest, yet this little guy decided it looked like a good landing spot.

Ladies of the south. Maryn is more enticed by all the butterflies flying around versus my camera.

Taking in the beauty all around.

Horsing around...

Why the long face?

Get it - why the long face?! That's hilarious! I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. This is the look Maryn gives me when she doesn't think I'm as funny as I think I am.

Mama and Maryn feeding carrots to the smart horses shaded under a tree.

Some pictures speak for themselves.

Making new friends, small in stature, full of heart.
