Head strong...

Here's a video of Maryn holding her head up.  She has been able to do this for at least three weeks.  If she's this head strong already, I think Marisa and I are in for it.  No idea why the camera makes the funky noise that it does.  If you don't have sound, you're not missing anything.  Marisa spends time playing with Marisa like this each morning.  Three day weekends are good for me spending time at home!

Sleeping in the stars. In addition to her drum solo (see video posted below) she also plays the piano - check out her fingers.

This is our first baby, Tolouse, he's less than thrilled about his recent competition. However, he has since become protective of his new family member - who is smaller than he is!

This is Maryn practicing ignoring her dad. I'm directly in front of her, talking to her, with a camera flashing. I think I heard her say "Dad, knock it off, you're embarrasing me." She has no idea.

Sitting up with mama. If only you could hear the thundering sounds filling her diaper during this picture.

This is what happens when she drinks too much! Drunk of milk and fading fast.

Mom and Grandmas...

The girls like hanging out with each other.

Maryn with her mom, grandma, and great-grandma!

Snuggling up to mama.

Did you see that flash of light?! What was that? By the way, I have a seahorse on my shirt. Jealous?

Watch this!

When Maryn is eating, she drools a little here and there. And when she's not done eating...

...wait for it...

...there it is! Not happy!

So she eats some more.

Then the food coma hits!

Brighter pics...

Bottom's up! Marisa took some pictures during the daylight! Most of the pics we take are in the evening, so this is a little brighter.

This was during her recent photo shoot! A photographer came to the house. We're working on getting the baby announcement's out.

She's quite taken by the photographs being taken around here.

Here she is looking out the window, like a high school senior picture. She's reflecting on all she has learned in her six weeks and looks to a bright future ahead. She already threw her cap up into the air. Or, maybe she just threw up, I can't remember exactly.

She's working on twisting her tongue, you know that genetic trait that some people can do and others can't. She totally did it, it's hard to tell in this picture so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Maryn video...

Here's a video of Maryn I took on Saturday morning. It's a little dark, but it gets lighter, should be viewable. I was trying to keep Maryn quiet and happy while mom slept. It's not easy, mom has a tough job! If you have sound, the chair she's in vibrates and replicates a heartbeat sound to sooth her. We may have been listening to some Bob Marley too, not sure if it's on there, our desktop doesn't have speakers. You can check out Maryn's drum solo during the video - she just doesn't have drumsticks or drums, but she has the motion down!

One month and counting...more pics...two posts...what a deal!

Maryn has a bit of a drinking problem. Well, it's more of a family trait.

I try to help Marisa out in the evenings after work...when Maryn is most fussy...

I usually give up and just cry along with her. Though I don't know if it's helps Marisa, it helps Maryn and I deal with whatever we're crying about!

Then we turn to Marisa and say "Look, mom, we stopped crying!"

Then we laugh about it! We're laughing, I'm telling you, laughing!

One month of age!

Well, Maryn is now a month old! Actually, just passed a month old and cruising thru week number five in this world.

Mom has finally started to feel like herself again! After all, having major surgery on top of the significant change of taking a child out of your body is quite an ordeal!

Maryn likes to be held on your shoulder so she can check out the view.

While she does have a ton of hair for newborn, check out the bald spot! I'm sure she'll enjoy me pointing that out years from now.

She loves her mom!

More pics...partying outside...

Mom and Maryn enjoying some sunshine, finally. Maryn was able to enjoy her first family Sunday dinner.

Uncle Brody had been away at flight training. This is the first time they met. It was his birthday celebration, as he was gone for that, so this was my present to him. It was just easier than buying him a present. Though Marisa may disagree!

Ninja Turtle Trystan (see previous post) and Aunt Gina are hanging out with Maryn. Trystan is happy to see her wearing clothes as he was quite concerned that she would be born without a diaper or clothes on.

Maryn likes a crowd, she normally sleeps when a lot of people are around. Then, when we have her at home, she likes to put on a somewhat more vocal performance for her mom and me.

It's a rough life.
